Articles and links to help parents ensure their children are smart and safe technology users.

This site shows how your school librarian helps support literacy development and success.

Parents are a child's first teachers

At Wallace, we consider parents and siblings to be part of the school community.  Students learn so much more if learning is reinforced and curiosity is encouraged at home, as well as at school.  Spending just 15 minutes a day reading with your child will make a world of difference in their literacy skills.  Modeling behavior at home so your child sees you reading will also encourage your child to become a better reader.  I've included some articles on this page that I've found to contain useful information for all stages of a child's development and links to nearby public libraries.

This website promotes literacy and a love of reading from birth through the teen years.

This group has partnered with medical professionals to help academic success for students.

 Volunteer

If you'd like to become more involved at Wallace, I'm always looking for reliable volunteers to come in and help out in the library.  Whether you're available every week and can come help check books out to students and reshelve the returned books, or if you're only available once a month (or once a semester) and can help put up bulletin boards or displays, I have a spot for you.
